Aldon L. Burpo - Kingfisher

The funeral for Aldon Lee Burpo, 82, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lighthouse Praise and Worship Center. The Rev. Bob Shafer will officiate. Burial will be in Banner Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service.

He was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Crescent to Walter and Ollie Bell Burpo and died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at First Shamrock Care Center in Kingfisher.

He lived most of his life in the Dover and Kingfisher areas. On Jan. 10, 1949, he married Juanita M. Biby at Kingfisher. They farmed and ranched east of Dover, retiring to Kingfisher. He also worked for County of Kingfisher and retired as county foreman. He served in the Army during World War II.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Pogue of Kingfisher and Tammy Patocka of Hennessey; two sisters, Mae Jones and June Fike, both of Kingfisher; three brothers, Albert and Gene, both of California, and Frank of Dover; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter.
