Eddie Keller Jr. was born November 3, 1926 in Bogalusa, La. to the late Eddie Keller (Ethel,Louisiana) and Robbie Wicker-Keller( Money, Mississippi). He was the eldest of their eight children.

Growing up in Bogalusa, he was a member of Sweet Beulah Baptist Church and graduated from Central Memorial High School in 1945. Before finishing high school Eddie was drafted into the army where he served 18 months during World War II. Upon his return from the war in 1946, Eddie attended Southern University in Baton Rouge where he earned a certificate in Industrial Arts and his Associates Degree in Tailoring.

On September 5, 1948, he married Rosie Mary Kilpatrick. To this union four children were born; twins Terry and Perry, Anthony Charles and Barbara Dianne. Their family later expanded with the adoption of their granddaughter Rosemary (Anthony's daughter).

In 1950 Eddie moved to Chicago and started his first and only job with Western Electric. In 1953
he relocated his family to Chicago and joined First Baptist Congregational Church where he served as an usher and on the Trustee Board. He was employed by Western Electric (now AT&T) for 35 years, until he retired and moved back to Bogalusa in 1985. Upon his return, he reunited with Sweet Beulah Baptist Church and was active member until his health began to fail.

Eddie Keller Jr. departed this life on Sunday July 12, 2015, and was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Rosie Mary), twins (Terry and Perry), son (Anthony Charles), two brothers (Devon) and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his daughter Barbara Dianne, Chicago, IL , four siblings, Normel (Theresa) Bogalusa, La., Dennis (Hazel) Maywood, IL. Marcella, Chicago IL. and Lulla, Bogalusa, La.; three grandchildren, Rosemary, Keith (Latrina) and Sharena, eight great- grandchildren( Asia, Kendall, Kaitlyn, Kristian, Kameron, Edward, Joshua, and Soulani), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 Noon at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. James Magee officiating. Interment will be held at the Bogalusa Cemetery in Bogalusa, La.
