Our beloved Betty passed away October 26 after a protracted illness. She was born Elizabeth "Betty" Raney on July 25, 1932 in Washington, Indiana. She worked for many years at Banquet Foods in Turlock. She loved camping and fishing with her family as well as her siblings. She will be greatly missed by all her large family.
Her survivors include her husband James Runyan; her children: Westley "Bud" Runyan (Cindy) of Ceres and Beth Ann Perry (Steve) of Modesto; grandchildren: Jennifer Mills and Breanna Perry both of Modesto; John Runyan of Los Angeles and Megan Runyan of New York City; 3 great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Rosemary Dicob (Gilbert) of Glendale, AZ; Virginia Newcomb of Glendale, AZ; Robert Raney of Glendale, AZ; Faye Orsbun (Richard) of Banning, CA and Lois McBride (James) of Black Canyon City, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Leo F and Ethel H Raney; her daughter Rae Marie Carpenella; her son Michael Runyan and her siblings: Anne Love, William F Raney and Leo Raney Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 10am at Franklin & Downs Ceres Chapel, 2561 5th St., Ceres. Her final resting place will be private at Lakewood Memorial Park.
