Robert Raymond Raney, 90, of Glendale passed away October 23, 2020. He was born in Washington, Indiana on October 2, 1930. He was the 2nd oldest son out of ten children to Ethel and Leo Raney. In 1935 the Raney's moved to Arizona on Christmas Eve. In Robert's early life he grew up farming and milking cattle with his father in Arizona. After his education, he served the United States Army from October 18, 1948 until August 10th 1949. In 1952 he moved to Buckeye to start his own dairy farm. His passion and love for transportation would then begin when, he and long time friend, Dutch Rouse would go into partnership, establishing Glendale Transfer Inc.

Robert spent most of his life in the transportation business. He was a truck driver for the cotton gin where he met his wife Peggy. Peggy worked for the cotton gin and would harass her until one day she gave in and went on a date with Robert. On February 8, 1956, one day after Peggy's birthday, they were married. In January of 1957 they welcomed their first son Bud, and in December of that same year their second son, Al was born. In September of 1960, their third child Jeannine was born. In 1960 Triple R. Sales Inc. was established into the Raney Family. In later years the company name would then go on to be changed to Triple R. Trucking Inc. In 1984 he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome and would retire from truck driving.

Robert was an active member in the agriculture community. He sponsored many 4-H and FFA programs throughout Arizona to ensure young farmers and ranchers the success they needed. In addition to the agricultural community he served as a veteran to the American Legion Post 29 of Glendale, Arizona.
