From Tuesday July 5, 1938 Saginaw News:

THREE DROWNED YOUTHS' FUNERALS TO BE COMBINED
Triple funeral services for Robert O. Arnold and Waldo E. and Wilbert A. Richert, Saginaw young men who drowned Sunday in Saginaw Bay, will take place a 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, of which all three were active members. Rev. Emil H. Voss will officiate and burials will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brockway Road. Private funeral services for the trio will take place Wednesday morning at their respective homes, and the bodies will lie in state at the church from noon until the time of the funeral.
Robert Otto Arnold, son of Mrs. Anna J. Arnold...was born in Saginaw January 7, 1919. He attended Holy Cross School and Arthur Hill High School, being graduated from the latter in 1936. He was a member of Holy Cross senior choir and the Walther League. He leaves, besides his mother, a brother, Edmund C. Arnold, at home and his grandmother, Mrs. August Arnold of Bay City.....
Waldo and Wilbert Richert, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. P. Richert....were born in Saginaw. Waldo, born September 24, 1911, attended Holy Cross and Arthur Hill Trade Schools, being graduated from the latter in 1930. Wilbert, born April 29, 1915, also attended Holy Cross School and was graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1935. Both were members of Holy Cross senior choir and the Walther League. They leave, besides their parents, a sister and brother, Edgar and Miss Thelma Richert, both at home, and their grandmothers, Mrs. Katherine Wegester of Saginaw and Mrs. Katherine Richert of Detroit....
