John Schwartz Funeral is held

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Mennonite Church for John J.Schwartz, 80, Rt. 1, who died Saturday at his home after a brief illness.

Rev. George Kopper officiated at the service with burial in the IOOF cemetery under direction of Purdy and Kerr.

Mr. Schwartz was born February 28, 1881 in South Dakota and came to the Monroe area in 1918. He was a member of the Mennonite Church.

Survivors in addition to the widow, Lydia, are three sons, Emil of Modesto, Calif., Clarence of Rt. 1, and Alfred of Casa Robles, California; five daughters, Mrs. Jake Flickinger of Burton, Kan., Mrs. Henry Gerber of Rt. 2, Mrs. Harry Albrecht of The Dalles, Ore., Mrs. Alvin Clark of Seattle and Mrs. Robert Hanson of Seattle; 34 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

Additional survivors are four brothers, Jake in Oklahoma, Daniel in California, Joe of Rt 1, and Henry of Bellingham; and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Renner of Renton and Mrs. Katie Zerger of Monroe.
