H. H. Bilberry, 85, was one of the earliest settlers in this section, who died at his home in Jayton, Texas. He planted the first cotton successfully grown in Kent County. Services were held in Jayton Baptist Church. He came to Texas in 1861 and moved to Kent County in 1896. He was one of the most successful farmers of Kent County, a charter member of the Baptist Church, and the Masonic Lodge of Jayton.

Survived by his wife; eight children.
