Emmett was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, St. Albans, and Charleston Local 625, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He served in combat with the U.S. Army in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Miller; parents, Radford and Cora Miller; son-in-law, Thomas Pauley; son, Robert Miller; grandson, Joseph Pauley, II; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Sidney McGee, Ann and Dick Moran, brother-in-law, George Hamilton; and sister-in-law, Julia Miller.
Emmett is survived by his loving daughters, Carol Anderson and her husband, Rocky, and Jane Coleman and her husband, Garry, of Charleston; brother, Fred Miller; sister, Louise Hamilton; six grandchildren, Greg, David, Joe, Garry, Melissa and Corey; five great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Morgan, Logan, Isaiah and Brandon; loving nieces and nephews; and his sweet friend, Bubbles.
Graveside services with military rites will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Cunningham Memorial Park Lower Mausoleum Chapel, St. Albans, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
