Services Saturday for John Achenbach, 83
Funeral services for John Achenbach, 83, who spent his life in the Cedar Bluff area, were held November 16 at the Cedar Bluff church with the Rev. Dean Swartzendruber of Wellman in charge.
Music was by the church choir: Pallbearers were Earl Achenbach, Lisbon; Andy Achenbach, North English; Arden Achenbach, Morley; Lloyd Achenbach, Shellsburg; Harold Achenbach, Cedar Rapids, and Gerald Stout, West Branch.
Burial was in Shawver cemetery. The Sheets and Dahn funeral home was in charge.
The son of Lewis and Elizabeth Zerbe Achenbach, he was born June 23, 1880 at Cedar Bluff and spent his life in that area.
He married Daisy Brannaman, June 2, 1909 and later they divorced. They had a son Alfred Achenbach who preceded him in death.
He is survived by a grandson Leland Achenbach, Center Junction, 3 great-grandchildren and 3 brothers, Orlando, Shellsburg, Isaac Cedar Bluff and Abner, Morley.
