They had 6 children born in Missouri: Heinrich Friedrich Gustav ("Gustav"), Heinrich Christian Friedrich ("Christian F."), Wilhelm ("William")who died in infancy, Louis, Friedrich ("Frederick"), and Anna Caroline Alvine ("Alvina" or "Caroline A.A."). They also had an infant daughter, Elisabeth, who died at sea on their way to America aboard the ship "Adonis."
