Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Nadine "Billie" (Crawford) Sells Taylor, 67, of Cookeville and formerly of Pickett County, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003, from the chapel of Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown. Burial was in Lovelady-Sims Cemetery with Bro. Ovle Tinch and Bro. Ricky Cross officiating.
Mrs. Taylor died Friday, May 30 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was a factory employee, a homemaker, and a member of Wolf River Baptist Church.
Born February 1, 1936, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Edgar "Jack" and Omi (Winn-ingham) Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene "Chief" Sells; a son, David Sells; and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Taylor of Cookeville; three daughters, Sandy Cross and husband, Danny, and Pam Phares, all of Byrdstown, and Shirley Guthrie and husband, Ronnie, of Eubank, KY; a step-daughter, Jeanie Kiney and husband, Scott, of Austin, TX; two sisters, Evelyn Neal and Judy Phillips, both of Indianapolis, IN; nine grandchildren, Brad Cross, Jake Cross, Nathan Guthrie, Ryan Guthrie, Toni Alvarez, Tara Phares, Brandi Sells, Steven Sells, and Dustin Sells; a step grandchild; six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Pallbearers were Danny Nelson, Keith Taylor, Brad Cross, Jake Cross, Nathan Guthrie, and Ryan Guthrie.
