Both Joseph and his wife,Sarah died in New Salem,buried in Fish Hill Cemetery in Prescott but they were reinterned in Quabbin Park in Ware, due to the flooding of the town for a resevoir in later years.
This Joseph is a son of John Packard (Samuel 1) and married Sarah Johnson dau. of David Johnson. This Joseph lived variously in Bridgewater, Brookfield, Pelham, Wilmington Vt, New Salem, and Prescott.
Children here are confused with Joseph Packard, son of Samuel Packard 2(Samuel 1) who married Abigail Alger of Easton in the same year and lived for a time in Buckfield, Oxford, Maine, as did his children, but is noted to have died very aged in Easton MA
