Mrs. John Jones Brother Succumbs
J. Frank Paxton, 69, druggist of Winters, died suddenly in Sweetwater Saturday night after a busy day filling prescriptions in a drugstore there. He was a brother to Mrs. John C. Jones, this city.
Mrs. Paxton had sold his drugstore in Winters and retired about a year ago at which time he was featured in an article carried in the Abilene Caller as the "Main Street druggist" for 45 years.
He served as mayor and also as president of the school board of Winters, was an ardent worker in the Methodist church where he served as Sunday School superintendent.
Survivors include his wife, daughter of the late Dr. Allred of Winters; two daughters, Mrs. Everett Roller, Winters; and Mrs. E. A. Sdams of Cleburne. Also surviving are three grandchildren, nieces and nephews and the sister, Mrs. Jones.
