STOUGHTON -- Balbina R. "Bena" (Rudinski) Leonard, 59, of Howland Road, Lakeville, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at New England Sinai Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Luke Leonard Jr. and daughter of the late Louis J. and Helen (Kazanowski) Rudinski.
Born in Turners Falls, she lived in Lakeville for 37 years.
She was a 1960 graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor's degree in home economics.
Mrs. Leonard was a teacher in the Freetown-Lakeville regional school system at Apponequet Regional High School for 30 years, retiring in 1991. During her tenure at the school, she was head of the home economics department.
Mrs. Leonard was a life member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Educators Association, a member of the Cranberry Quilters of Carver-Plymouth and served for many years as registrar of voters in Lakeville.
She was a communicant of Sts. Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey L. Leonard of Greenfield; a daughter, Mary C. Davis of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; a brother, Louis Rudinski of Millersville, Md.; a sister, Virginia Newell of Ashfield; two aunts, a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville.
Arrangements are by the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.
