Elsie Pearl McCuen-Lawson, the daughter of John and Clara (Chubick) Pierson was born April 19, 1916 at Griswold, Iowa. Elsie entered Eternal Rest on Saturday May 21, 2005 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, at the age of eighty-nine years, one month and two days.


She married Clarence Charles McCuen on September 7, 1933 at Avoca, Iowa, they were blessed with 6 children; on June 28, 1972, she married William Jennings Bryan Lawson at Shenadoah, Iowa.


Elsie enjoyed gardening and quilting; each child has a handmade quilt.


She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Leland Ray McCuen; brothers, Edgar Pierson and Lester Pierson; sister, Lucy Butcher; brother-in-law, Duane Butcher; grandson, Russell Wayne Bressman, and granddaughter, Annette Irene Davis.


Survivors include daughter, Elsie Mae Albright, Holden, Missouri; son, Cecil Earl (Anna) McCuen, Villisca, Iowa; daughter, Arlene Irene Raines, Hepburn, Iowa; son, Clarence Charles McCuen, Jr., Stanton, Iowa; son, Kenneth Wayne (Monica) McCuen, Nodaway, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Cleo McCuen, Corning, Iowa; brother, Richard (Charlotte) Pierson, Red Oak, Iowa; sister, Leona (John) Lint, Villisca, Iowa; 26 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
