Myrtle E. Thompson, 97, Chamois, died Sept. 19, 2002, at Green Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility in Linn. She was born June 2, 1905, in Chamois, a daughter of Rudolph and Pauline Seivert Thee. She was married Sept. 15, 1924, in Linn, to Russell Thompson, who died Sept. 9, 1981. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chamois, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Survivors include: one son, Delbert Thompson, Largo, Fla.; four daughters, Eileen McIntosh, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mildred Kormann and Bonnie Kormann, both of Chamois, and Violet Lynch, Lake City, Fla.; one brother, Paul Thee, Red Cloud, Neb.; one sister, June Dyke, Jefferson City; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchild and one great-great-great-grandchild. One daughter, Beulah Joy Thompson, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, preceded her in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Chamois. The Rev. Larry Hendrickson will officiate. Burial will be in Chamois City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at Morton Funeral Home, Chamois. Memorials are suggested to St. Aubert Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
