DWIGHT FOSTER OF KEELER IS DEAD
Was Life Long Resident of Township and One of Its Best Known Citizens
Dwight Foster, one of the best known farmers of Keeler township, died at his home five miles south of Hartford last Saturday after a lingering illness of Bright's disease, aged 60 years.
Mr. Foster was a life long resident of Keeler, having been born at the Foster homestead there on December 10, 1854. His death occurred on March 20, 1915, making him a continuous resident of the township for over 60 years.
Throughout his life he had been prominently identified with the affairs of the township. He never sought, but had held several public offices and positions of trust and was regarded by his neighbors as a "man whose word was as good as his bond."
For years he had been prominent in the Methodist church of Keeler, and lived in accordance with his religious convictions. Greatly respected for his sterling qualities, Mr. Foster was highly esteemed in his community.
He was married to Miss Lillian M. Buck, September 22, 1881, who with three children survive him. The children are Miss Gladys Lillian, Lucious Dean and Newton B. Foster.
Mr. Foster was the eighth of a family of nine children of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Foster, pioneers of Keeler. Of these he is survived by three sisters, the Misses Josephine and Ida Foster, residing on the old homestead in Keeler, and Mrs. I. P. Newton of Muskegon, and three brothers, Morris Foster residing in Minnesota, Riley Foster residing in North Dakota and Dean Foster of Alaska.
Funeral services for him were attended in Keeler yesterday afternoon, the funeral being one of the largest ever held there.
