Mary Lavona Johnson Erickson, 69, died July 2, 1959, at the home of her daughter, Mrs Jack Hoyard, in Logan, Utah.

She was born on March 23, 1890, in Call's Fort, Utah, a daughter of Race A and Charlotte Whitworth Johnson. The family moved to Beaver Dam when she was a child. She attended Brigham Young College in Logan, Utah.

She married Joseph A Erickson on November 27, 1912 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Beaver Dam all of their married life. Joseph died on March 3, 1958.

She was an active church worker, having served as President of the Beaver Dam YWMIA, Secretary of the Sunday School, member of the Bear River Stake YWMIA Board, and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs Jack (Helen) Howard, Overton, Nevada; Mrs Don (Virginia) Rigby and Durrell Erickson, Logan, Utah; Bryce, Beaver Dam, Utah; Mrs Tom (Lavonna) Steffen and Dr Melvin Erickson, Bountiful, Utah; Mrs Harmon (Elaine) Green, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs Clarence (Marie) Bigler, San Diego, California; 28 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: A A Johnson, Beaver Dam, Utah; Mrs Catherine Kuhui, Sandy, Utah; Mrs Afton Walkenhearst, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Mrs Charlott Bateman, Ogden, Utah.

Burial was held in the Beaver Dam Cemetery, Beaver Dam, Utah.
