OBITUARY - G. C. Beard, 62, Is Claimed By Death - G. C. Beard, 62, of Lubbock, died of a heart attack about 9 o'clock last night in Lubbock Memorial Hospital, where he had been admitted a few hours earlier.
He came to Lubbock in 1937 from Fort Worth, where he lived most of his life. While in Fort Worth, he was in business with his brother in an engraving company in Houston. He was born in Arkansas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at First Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Board of Stewards. Dr. H. I. Robinson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in a Lubbock cemetery.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Donald McDonald of Beeville; a son, Dr. Bruce Beard, Galveston; one sister, Mrs. J. G. Bell of Pharr; two brothers, N. B. Beard of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Roy J. Beard, Houston; and four grandchildren.
