The daughter of Theodorick Fitzgerald Webb (formerly Theodorick Fitzgerald) and his wife Sarah Huff, both of Franklin Co., VA.

She married 14 Oct 1809, Franklin Co., VA to Dr. Robert M. Beard [b. 1783]. Her mother Sarah consented; surety was George Walker, her future stepfather.

Robert was a Presbyterian Doctor of Religion. He would have been a member of the Sydnorsville congregation in Franklin county.

The 1810 census shows Nancy and Robert without children yet, but with three slaves:

Robert died in Jan 1837. The Library of Virginia has an obituary for him that reads:
"Died, at his residence in Franklin County [VA] on Monday the 19th of January [1837], Dr. Robt. M. Beard, in the 53rd year of his age. The deceased was for many years a Professor of Religion, and a member of the Presbyterian Church."

In either 1838 or 1840, Nancy and her children joined a wagon train of friends and relatives to move west to Monroe County, Missouri.

In March 1841, in Monroe Co., MO, Robert Wright was appointed executor of the estate Nancy C. Beard's. Robert's father Larkin Wright gave bond as security. Robert was probably her son-in-law.

On 11 Mar 1841, Nancy's brother Bird S. Webb was appointed guardian of her minor children:

According to descendant Candi Beard Nation, they started in the Bedford/Franklin area of VA, then went to Floyd county KY (by 1810) and Nelson (near Louisville) KY, then on to Monroe Co MO by 1837). Ferdinand d. 27 May 1882; may have been buried in Lafayette Co., MO. Robert Wright witnessed the 1903 will of Mary Wyatt (Howell) Beard in Monroe Co.? She was wife of Ferdinand Beard, son of Theodorick Webb's daughter Nancy.
