TALLADEGA - Graveside service for Anita Paris Washam, 96 of Talladega, will be Wednesday, May 5 at 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery with the Rev. David Teel officiating. Mrs. Washam passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Citizens BMC. She was a native of Arkansas but spent most of her life in Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Lee Washam; her parents, Herman and Amanda Paris; and sisters, Grazella Fortner, Frankie Scott, Helen Sturdivant, and Gayle Hughes. Mrs. Washam is survived by one son, Wayne Washam (Charlotte) of Talladega; one daughter, Glenda Washam Fansher (Larry) of Freeport, Texas; one grandson, Kyle Washam (Katie) of Talladega; two sisters, Billie Smith of Childersburg and Amelia Livingston of Memphis, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; and her "special" caretaker, Janie Ruth Cox. Mrs. Washam was an active member of Concord United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was retired from Palm Beach Company. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 4 from 5-7 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 85 Concord Road, Talladega, AL 35160. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.
