GOODMAN: Edna "Ruth" Goodman, 68, a longtime Lordsburg resident, was called home into eternal rest Thursday, Oct. 3, at 11:35 a.m. at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 at the Assembly of God Church, where funeral services will begin at 11. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. She was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Warrensburg, Mo., to Henry and Edna Hall Robertson. She went to Lordsburg in 1979 from Missouri. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a cashier for E.J. Short Co. for some time. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandma, and a friend to all. She is survived by her husband, Darril E. Goodman Sr. of Lordsburg; one sister, Fay Deardorff of Warrensburg, Mo.; eight children, Donald Hix and his wife, Gloria, of Benton, Mo., Keith Hix and his wife, Sherry, of Merriam, Kan., Kenneth Hix and his wife, Michelle, of Independence, Mo., William David Hix and his wife, Lydia, of Silver City, Janice Wood and her husband, Ralph, of Bayard, Annamarie Ramirez and her husband, Manuel, of Lordsburg, Mary Pantoja and her husband, Ruben, of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Jeanni Hall and her husband, Kevin, of Silver City; and three stepchildren, Leslie Goodman and his wife, Sandra, of Lordsburg, Darril Goodman Jr. and his wife, LaWanda, of Phoenix, and Emmitt Goodman of Lordsburg. She had 31 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ruben Pantoja, W.L. Sanders, Les Goodman, Kenneth Hix, Kevin Hall, Manuel Ramirez, David Hix, Delbert Gum, Rene Saucedo and Emmitt Goodman.
