Doris E Palmerton, 84, passed away surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Whitehouse Country Manor. She was born, January 1, 1927, to Charles & Bertha (Koester) Niemeyer. Doris married Rowland (Bud) Palmerton in 1947. They raised their two children, Linda and Connie, at their south Toledo home on Almon Avenue. After the passing of her husband in 1978, she worked for Minnesota Fabrics at the Parkway Plaza for 10 years, retiring in 1991. Before moving to Whitehouse in 1985, she attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where her family were members for 35 years. She was an active church member and volunteered on many committees. She was a member of Community of Christ Lutheran Church of Whitehouse, Ohio since 1985. Her many interests included fishing with her husband on their boat, golfing, gardening, bowling, sewing, needlework, ceramics, and reading. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by the family she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter Connie. Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Carl); sister Grace Daso, Grandson Christopher; Granddaughter Cheri (Jeff); Great-granddaughters Addison and Jaidyn.

The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude for the excellent care Doris received from the staff of The Glendale where she lived for four years. Also, thanks to the staff of Whitehouse Country Manor and Southern Care Hospice for their compassion and respect they gave her these last few months.

Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale, Avenue, on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald Heinz of Community of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Memorial donations are requested to Community of Christ Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
