George William was the son of James Maurcie Gunn and Ruby May Lantz. George married Mary Lou Coyle on 27 Jun 1942 in Davenport, Iowa where he was stationed in the Navy for World War II. After the war George and Mary Lou moved to New Palestine, built a house on George's family farm and lived there they remainder of their lives. They had 6 children they w- Georgia Anne Gunn Hancock, Linda Gunn Carlton, Nancy Sue Gunn Dodd, Michael William Gunn, James Mark Gunn, and Matthew Gunn. They also had 19 grandchildren. I can remember spending nights there, playing in their yard by rolling down the hill, swinging on the rope swing, and overall just visiting with the family. He always tried to act mean but we all knew his bark was much worse that his bite. George was my grandpa.
