TUPELO – Florence L. Bowman, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Madison County, Ky., on July 19, 1925, to Robert and Minnie Cain. She lived in Greenwood for over 30 years and worked at The Learning Tree and attended Calvary Baptist Church. After retiring from The Learning Tree at the age of 79, she moved to be closer to her family. She enjoyed being involved with children and the elderly. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include one daughter, Bobbie Bowman Crane (Patrick) of Southaven; one son, Jim Bowman (Pam) of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Leslie Purser (Steven) of Petal, Robert Crane (Melissa) of Laurel, Michael Bowman (Angelicia) of Tupelo, Adam Bowman of Tupelo and Ryan Bowman of Florida; five great-granchildren, Gillian and Regan Purser, and West, Nathan and Abby Crane.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neal S. Bowman, in 1982; her son, Rickey D.Bowman, in 1996; and her brother, Earl Cain.
