On July 25, 1917, in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, the sun shined brightly for James and Dora Hyche, as a beautiful, baby girl that was named Beatrice Hyche was brought into this world. She was the 4th of 8 children born from this union.

She lived her early years in Tullahassee and Porter, Oklahoma. Beatrice attended school in Wagoner County and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age. She joined the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and remained a member there until her health would no longer allow.

Beatrice met and later married Ezell Carter in 1934 and 4 children were born from this union; Benjamin Carter, Versa Lee Gray, Lucille Palmer and Jimmy Earl Carter. She also raised 4 grandchildren; Larry Miller, Terry Townsell, Ronnie Singleton and Patricia Walker.

Mrs. Carter spent most of her life providing for her family from Domestic work and loved playing Dominoes with her friends and family. She enjoyed helping people by giving them rides to Doctor Appointments, grocery stores and any other places that they may need to go. She was affectionately referred to as "Big Mama" by all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren..
