MAREAN 13 Jun 1898 Mr Everett Marean died at the home of a daughter near Washington DC at Brookland on Saturday (10 Jun). He was born in Lackawanna Co PA 58 years ago. He was with the Delaware and Lackawanna and Western RR for a while. He came here in 1873 as general agent for the B & O RR, serving for 5 years. Then, he became master of transportation for the George's Creek and Cumberland R R until his death. He was twice married, Miss Radle with whom 7 children were born, and his 2nd wife who survives was a Miss Shuck. Children still living are: John S at Alford PA; Albert; Raymond; and Mrs Gibbs, Mary, Fannie, and Margaret all at Brookland. Two brothers, Morel Marean, manager of the Western union Telegraph at Washington DC and Delzene Marean who also works for the same company; and also two sisters, Miss Francene Marean, telegraph operator for the Treasury Department in Washington DC and Miss Ellen Marean at Brookland. The funeral is from the home today at Centre & Valley streets and interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
