Lucille Marie Ficklin--A lifelong resident of Prairieville, she passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at age 69. She was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed taking care of others, cooking, and having family get togethers. She is survived by two daughters, Carla Vicknair Clark and husband Richard, and Darla Vicknair; three stepsons that she loved and reared as if they were her own, William Daryl Ficklin and wife Suzanne, Emory Eugene Ficklin Jr. and wife Belinda, and Christopher Donovan Ficklin; two sisters, Ellen Marlene Tullier and Genevieve Lessard and husband David; six grandchildren, Emory Eugene Ficklin III and wife Maggie, William Ray Ficklin, Jessica Deshay Ficklin, Brandi LenŽ Ficklin, William Daryl Ficklin and wife Brittany, and Nicholas James Ficklin; eight great-grandchildren, Emory IV, Sydney, Madison, William ÒBilly,Ó Alexia, Bryson, Kason, and Chloe; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lakewood and Stella Lee Tullier; husband, and love of her life, Emory Eugene Ficklin Sr.; first husband, John E. Vicknair; brother, Roy Joseph Tullier; granddaughter, Whitney Danylle Ficklin; and niece, Donna Tullier. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Burial in Ficklin Cemetery, Prairieville. Pallbearers will be her three sons, Emory, Daryl, and Chris Ficklin, as well as Nicholas Ficklin, Will Ficklin, Emory Ficklin III, Richard Rodrigue, Brody Tullier, and Joe Broussard. Honorary pallbearers are Jessica Ficklin and Brandi Ficklin. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at Ascension Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and to Amedisys Hospice.
