Pearl G. Banta, 90, formerly of Colfax, passed away May 16, 2011, in Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
Mrs. Banta was born January 27, 1921, in Boone County to John R. and Stella A. (Hill) Bowen. She married Delbert H. Knox in 1938 and they divorced. She later married Charles Banta in 1951, in Whitestown, and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald (Donna) Knox of Lafayette and Harold Knox of Frankfort; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Knox; a sister, Viola Bowen; and a brother, Robert Bowen.
