He died at 1:21 p.m. Tuesday in Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
The Frankston native had lived in Lubbock since 1940 and formerly taught school at Cooper. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's of science degree in 1921 and later earned a master's degree in education. He was with the Lubbock Public Schools from 1940 until retiring in 1969. He was principal of Wheelock Elementary School for 20 years. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the National Education Association and the Texas State Teachers Association.
He was a member of Broadway Church of Christ.
