John was born in Normanby Twp; in 1873 to parents Andreas Rahn (1842-1910) and Louise Schlofenhauser (1849-????).

On Oct. 21, 1896 in Sullivan Twp; in Grey County, he married Louisa Mannerow at the age of 23. Marriage Register #004631.

Louisa passed away in 1920, so John married for the 2nd time to a Widow named Catherine Geisel-Heimbecker on April 06, 1922 in Kitchener, Waterloo County. Marriage Affidavit #021199.

He is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Waterloo with his 1st wife Louisa.
