Funeral services for Mrs Bessie Wheeler Ayers, 64, were held Sunday at 2 pm at Pin Hook Methodist Church. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery under the direction of Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport.
Mrs Ayers was a Lamar County native but had lived in Columbus, MS for several years.
Mrs Ayers died early Friday morning at her residence.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs A R Kirkley, Columbus, MS and Mrs Gladys Kiser, Detroit, MI; four sons, Jim Ayers, Garland, TX, James Earl Ayers, Ft Campbell, KY, Millard and Jose Ayers both of Detroit, MI; one brother Belton Wheeler of Mobile, AL; 21 grandchildren.
1930 Maylene and Straven, Shelby, Alabama in the household were; Grady L Ayres 24, Bessie Ayres 26, Hosie L Ayres 4 3/12, Theodore D Ayres 2 1/12, Gladys P Ayres 11/12.
