Shelbyville, Feb 7--The funeral of Rev. William J. Boone, one of the oldest men of the city was held from the Moulton Methodist church at 2 oclock Monday afternoon.The services was in charge of Rev. J. L. Ellis, himself more than 82 years old and for many years a close friend of Rev. Mr. Boone. Other ministers assisting in the service were Rev. W. D. Russell, Rev. c. M. Duncan and Rev. J. L. Douthit. Rev. Mr.Boone was almost 91 years old. He died Saturday noon. Rev. Mr.Boone was born in Shelby county, Ind, March 18, 1826. He and Miss Nancy Jones were married in 1842. She died in 1864. During his active work as a minister he served charges at Elizabethtown, Ind, In Montgomery county Ill, Shelbyville, Ill, Mt. Zion and Assumption where in 1876 his health failed. Most of the time since that year he has lived in Shelbyville.
MMr. Boone was the grandfather of C. ? Boone, a Decatur grocer. He is survived by six children, Mrs. Jeanie Wallace, E. A. Boon of Shelbyville, Mrs. May Beam, Mobile Ala., B. R. Boone, S. Haven Ks, W. D Boone of Kansas City, Mo, W. F. Boone of Lakewood. Obituary furnished by Janet Donner
