DAYTON, Tenn., Oct. 30.–Mrs. Vesta Kelley Allen, widow of Robert L. Allen and one of Dayton's most prominent women, died suddenly at 6:30 this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. T. Crawford. Mrs. Allen was born at Clear Creek, near Old Washington, June 19, 1856, and was married to Mr. Allen Jan. 20, 1877. Their golden wedding anniversary was celebrated Jan. 20, 1927. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Colonel Brown, of Dayton, and Mrs. A. A. Gilmore, of Kingman, Ariz., and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal church, south, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. C. L. Cox, assisted by the Rev. G. H. Norcross. Pallbearers will be John Schild, Richard Rogers, Wilfred Ault, Fred Abel, Walter Cunnyngham, Fulton Abel, W. P. Henry and V. S. Frazier. Interment in Buttram cemetery.
