Thomas was born in Chenango County, NY and his parents came to Richland, OH, arriving in Ohio 1 Aug 1823. The party was 23 strong consisted of, among others, Thomas's father, John and family, Thomas's uncle, Stephen and family, and one of their cousin's Moses.
Thomas Andrews and family arrived in Knox County IL in 1841. Thomas bought two sections of land there later selling one to his surviving son, James in 1870.
Several of their children are buried at Cherry Grove Cemetery
