Lena Christianson was born to Wilhelm Christiansen and German immigrant Katherine Kurtzeman on December 8, 1884 in Fayetteville, Fayette County, Texas.

She descends from German ancestry. Both her parents are German as are her grandparents. Her mother, along with paternal and maternal grandparents were all born in Germany and immigrated to the United States.

R. Jaeggli, a Lutheran minister performed the marriage ceremony uniting her parents on the 6th of January 1880 in Colorado County, Texas.

Between 1900-1910, Lena was married to a Mr. Bryan, as indicated on her death certificate. Nothing further is known about him.

Lena died in 1951 on July 13th in Mexia, Limestone County at the Mexia State School & Home. Her death certificate states that she suffered from Paranoidal Insanity which explains why she was a patient at the school.

The Mexia State School was established in 1946 as a home for senile women. Overcrowded state hospitals transferred patients there. During World War II, it was used as a camp for prisoners.

Lena was sixty-six years old when she passed away and was laid to rest on July 19, 1951 at Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ellinger, Fayette County, Texas.

After her father, Williams death, her mother, Katherine married Bernard Ben Fehmer about 1891 in Texas. Together they had the following children:

1) Anna Fehmer Perkins (1892-1981)
2) Marie C. Fehmer DeBall (1894-1969)
3) Emma Frances Fehmer Flanagan (1895-1975)
4) Henry Bernard Fehmer (1897-1969)

Bernard died on December 18, 1897 leaving Katherine a widow with a year old baby and seven of her children to raise in addition to Ben's children from his first marriage:
