Mary Lois Westover Carroll, 83, died January 5, 1992 at her home in West Valley.
Born February 18, 1908 in Joseph City, Arizona to John L. and Maren Adele Bushman Westover. Married Wayne E. Carroll August 1, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mary attended schools in Joseph City, Snowflake, Phoenix and Flagstaff, Arizona. Served an LDS mission in the Southern States, 1935-37. She worked as a dental assistant and sales lady before she owned her own dress designer shop. She could make anything.
After she married Wayne, they lived in Blanding and Salt Lake City, before moving to West valley in 1978. She has worked in all auxiliaries of the church and was president and in the Relief Society Presidency for more than 10 years. She spent many years doing genealogical research work and continued that until her stroke in August, 1990.
Mary is survived by her husband, Wayne; one son and three daughters and their spouses,
Wallace W. of Denver, Colo.; Joyce (Mrs. Kent W. Mabey), W. Jordan; Linda Sue (Mrs. David Bowers), West Valley; and Kathleen (Mrs. KayDon Jensen), Monroe, WA; 25 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Also survived by four brothers and two sisters, Donald E. Westover of Mesa, Ariz.; Wallace L. Westover of Scottsdale, Ariz.; M. Russell Westover and June (Mrs. Clinton) Duncan, Joseph City, Ariz.; Ruth (Mrs. E. Gus) Palmer, Flagstaff, Ariz.; and Ross Westover, Newark, Calif.
Preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 8, at 11:00 a.m., at the Taylorsville West Stake Center, 4505 South 3420 West, WVC. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and at the church, one hour prior to services. INterment, Lake Hills Memorial Park, 10055 South State Street.
