JOSEPH YEHLE
Joseph H. Yehle, 85, formerly of 141 E. Rhine Street, Elkhart Lake, died Saturday morning at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, where he had resided for the past two years. He was born July 10, 1896, in Sheboygan, son of John and Clementine Nahn Yehle. He attended Holy Name Catholic School.
He married the former Helen Fairweather on July 12, 1919, in Sheboygan Falls. They resided in Manitowoc and later moved to Sheboygan. She died in 1945. He married the former Clara Roehrdanz Voland on September 19, 1949, in Kiel. Mr. Yehle was employed at Manitowoc Ship Yards for a year before working for Kohler Company for six years. He owned and operated a grocery store in Sheboygan for 14 years, and was later the owner and operator of the Red and White Grocery Store in Elkhart Lake for 16 years, until his retirement in 1956. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake.
Survivors include his wife; a son; Eugene of Midland, Michigan; a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Nancy) Thielmann of Elkhart Lake; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur Yehle of Sheboygan.
Funeral services were held Monday at Resurrection Chapel of St. George Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. The Reverend Cletus Kaiser, pastor, was celebrant of the Mass. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
