His company, Service Electric Cable TV also became the first cable company to affiliate itself with Home Box Office. Home Box Office was started on Service Electric Cable in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on November 8, 1972. He was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame along with Larry King, Mike Wallace, and Ted Turner. Today, over 50 years from its birth, Service Electric is still the nation's largest privately owned cable company.
