She was the wife of Richard T. Hartshorne and she died July 23, 1882, aged 68 years according to the Rector of Christ Church in Middletown, Ernest Mandeville, in his 1927 book "History of Middletown" as reported to the USGenWeb by Robert J. VanKirk. If this information is correct, then she was born in 1813 or 1814.

On March 20, 2012, I got an email from Dave Jenkins that he believes that Catharine Jenkins Hartshorne was a daughter of Thomas Jenkins and Sarah Gardinier who are buried at the Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. I have linked Catharine to these parents pending further research on my part because a quick look at this information looks quite reasonable. I am actually quite intrigued by it since I had a relative, Sarah Hull Jenkins Simpson, daughter of Dr. William Kelly Simpson and his wife Anna Farrand. Sallie was a flower girl at the wedding of my grandparents Frank Farrand and Helena Willett Alger at Christ Church at Hudson, New York on October 14, 1896. Sallie was named after her father's step-mother Sarah Hull Jenkins of Hudson, New York.
