Ruby Alice Williams A funeral service for Ruby Alice Williams, 89, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bellaire United Methodist Church in Bellaire, Texas with Rev. Jim Flag officiating.
Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Willis Cemetery in Willis, Texas.
Mrs. Williams passed away Nov. 8, 2011 at her home at Tender Care Alzheimer's Home in Greenville, Texas.
She was born Sept. 12, 1922 in McLeansboro, Illinois to Madeline and Herman Steele. She graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1938. She married John Franklin Williams Jr. on July 18, 1952 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was a homemaker, Sunday school teacher, den mother and school volunteer and was a member of Kavanaugh United Methodist Church at the time of her death.
Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years; her son Lester Nolan Lalley: her son John Thomas Williams ; her brothers Otha Steele and James Monroe Steele; her sisters Orpha Bond, Ella Mae Harre and Eldora Townsend; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter Tina Rabb and husband Robert of Austin, Texas; her grandson Joshua Godwin and wife Korey of Austin; her grandson Eli Rabb of Los Angeles, California; her grandson John Rabb and wife Alexa of Austin; her grandson Alec Rabb of Dallas; her great grandson Holden Rabb and great granddaughter Samantha Rabb of Austin; her sister Mary Ruth Pool and husband A.W. of Clinton, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our friends at Tender Care whose loving kindness reached through the haze of dementia to touch Ruby's heart again and again for the last nine years, and to our friends from Hospice Plus who cared for her as gently as if she were their own.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. at Bellaire United Methodist Church.
