* The death date in the obituary, Sep. 14, 2009, disagrees with the Social Security Death Index date which was Sep. 15, 2009. The latter date is based on the official date of death from her death certificate. And Ruth did die at 12:10am early on the morning of the 15th of Sept. 2009.

I don't know who wrote the above obit, but Aunt Ruth was NOT born in "Chamal, Aguas Calientes". There is NO such place. Chamal, yes, Aguascalientes, yes, but not "Chamal, Aguas Calientes". Ruth was born in the village known by the locals as Chamal Nuevo which is in the Municipio** Ocampo in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. She lived for a while in Aguascalientes. In fact, her and Hilario's son, Harvie, was born there.

** a 'municipio' is a level of government similar to a county in the U.S.
--------------------------------------------

There was a second marriage to William (Bill) Baker while living in Fort Worth in the mid-50s. The marriage was very short lived, probably lasting less than a year, and likely then it was annulled. As I understand it, 'annulled' in this context means 'erased from the record', which probably explains why I've found no record of her 2nd marriage in genealogy search sites. I only have my memory of 'Uncle Bill' as we called him while he was in the family.
--------------------------------------------

Ruth Belshe was the 1st child and 1st daughter of Childress Webster Belshe and Virginia Ramos' 'unión libre' (i.e. common law marriage).
