KNOXVILLE -- Harry Murfi Verran Jr., age 80, of Knoxville, passed away Monday.
He was a member of Clapp's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mr. Verran was preceded in death by parents: Harry and Orphie Verran; brother: Pat Verran; and sisters: Betty Peters and Shirley.
He is survived by wife: Mary Katherine Verran; sons: Ricky Verran and wife, Martha, Nelson Verran and wife, Allison, Andy Verran and wife, Ann, and Darrell Verran and wife, Melissa; grandchildren: Kim Nicely, Rachel and Ronald Dills, Rebecca and Timothy Wolfenbarger, Robert and Whitney Verran, Shelby Verran, Catelin Verran, Jennessee Verran, Victoria Verran, Kayla Dills, Alicia (Dills) Verran, and Kevin (Hunt) Verran; and great-grandchildren: Amber Dills, Hunter Dills, Zoe Dills, Dustin and Daniel Wolfenbarger, and Alexis Wood.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. David Smith will officiate.
Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11 a.m. interment.
Pallbearers will be Ken Koontz, Jerry Howard, Robert Verran, Haroldine Hartman, Leonard Hartman, and Glennon Brown.
