Walter P. BEACH is the 8th child of George BEACH and Harriet BRADLEY.

On 28 Oct 1861 at age 38, at the beginning of the Civil War, In Lapeer Co, MI he formed and became Captain of Company F, Tenth Michigan Infantry.

During the closing months of the Civil War in 1865, Captain Walter BEACH with his wife Martha and 5 surviving children came to Ypsilaniti, Washtenaw Co, MI (from Almont, Lapeer Co, MI) to live.

Walter P. BEACH married FIRST August 31, 1845, at Providence, Providence Co, RI, to Martha Ann STACY.
Soon after their marriage, they moved to Almont, Lapeer Co, MI.
