Isaac Toucey Beach, s. of George Beach and his 2nd wife Maria Nichols, b. Nov. 2, 1832 at Hartford. Conn. He was bapt. at Hartford's Christ Church (Episcopal) Apr. 21, 1833 witnessed by his material uncle and aunt, Isaac Toucey, after whom he was named,[*1] and his wife Catherine Nichols.

By 1848 Isaac Toucey Beach's older half brother Walter Phelps Beach had married and moved to Almont, Lapeer County, Michigan where he began to raise a family. It is likely this is the reason why Isaac T. Beach settled at Lapeer County, Michigan. He was enumerated as a farmer of some wealth at Almont in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses.

On an unrecorded date and place circa 1856-57, Isaac m. Clara "Carrie" Fancher, dau. of Richard Fancher and Betsey Smith, b. Aug. 16, 1834 at Michigan. She d. May 2, 1899 possibly at Ann Harbor, although both Isaac and Clara are interred at Almont, Michigan.

Isaac Toucey Beach d. Feb. 18, 1912, but where is in question. In the June 1900 census, only a year after his wife's death Isaac was residing with his daughter Maria and her two sons at Ann Harbor, Michigan. Then inexplicably in the April 1910 census, Isaac and daughter Maria (Beach) Haywood, and a servant, were residing at Atlantic City, NJ. On the other hand, in 1910 Maria (Beach) Haywood's oldest son Beach, Beach's wife and Beach's father Nathaniel were residing at the Borough of Queens, NY.

Isaac and wife Clara had one known child, or least only one that grew to maturity to marry:

• i. Maria Elva Beach, b. in Oct. 1857 [1900 census] and apparently d. prior to Jan. 1920 at an unknown place; she m. Nathaniel J. Haywood, s. of Alvah E. and Lucretia Haywood, b. circa 1851 at Haverhill, Grafton County, NH, They had two sons b. at Michigan: Beach W. Haywood, May 6, 1879 and Clark Nathaniel Haywood, July 4, 1881. Both sons married but left no documented children.
