William's middle name is his mother's maiden name, hence the spelling. He married Mary Ann FUNK Feb 02 1868 in Pettis Co., Mo. They had only two sons, John 1869-1938 and Dennie 1870-bef 1900. Both were born in Pettis Co., also. Some mistake the name Dennie as Danny but it is not. He is named after William's deceased baby brother Dennie Elliott.
William's parents are also buried in Pettis Co., but in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Pettis Co., Mo.".
