Per family trees, Isaac was son of John Elliott (1765-1829) and Eleanor Lockridge (1763-1835).

Based on children's birth records, Isaac moved his family from KY to Pettis Co MO. between 1833 and 1836. Records show he brought three slaves to MO, Only two were listed in 1840 census, he appeared to have had 4 when he died: George, Sam and Miner, who were sold when he died, and/or Dinah who was about 67 when Isaac died.

1840 census, Pettis Co: Isaac Elliott; males 0-5/1, 5-9/1, 10-14/1, 20-29/1, 40-49/1: females 0-5/1, 5-9/1, 10-14/2, 15-10/1, 3o-39/1; slaves 1 male, 1 female; total 13.

1850 Pettis Co: ELLIOTT Nancy R/45/wd, Amanda F/17, Elizabeth D/14, Wm/12, Isaac/10, Catharine/7, Robert/4, Walter/0. Nancy and Amanda born in KY, remaining children in MO. Also in home is John B COVERT/32/KY who is farming.

There is an on-line hand written note from Mercier Co., KY, authorizing "Isaac Eliot to marry my daughter, Nancy ?Bowen/Bourne? ", signed by her father William Bourn and witnessed by James Tilford and Walter Denny. The note is difficult to read.

On-line copy of wills and probates for Isaac Elliott states he died intestate, Absalom Elliott was appointed administrator, by Allen Roberson, Clerk of County of Pettis County, Misssouri on Nov 15, 1849. (Absalom was Isaac's oldest surviving child).

Note - there is extensive court documentation re division of Isaac's estate with several pages re disposition of three negro male slaves, George, Sam and Minor.
