Mary Hartshorne and John (son of Elisha) Lawrence had eight children. He was born Jan. 28, 1709 (a previous brother John was born Nov. 10, 1699 but died young) at Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. They were married Nov. 2, 1738 in New Jersey. Her first born child was Helena (Eleanor) Lawrence who was born Sept. 16, 1739. The other children were: Elisha, born 22 Nov 1740 in Upper Freehold, New Jersey, William, born 31 July 1742, Lucy, born 27 Jul 1744, John, born 27 Jan 1747, Elizabeth, born 19 Feb 1750, Mary, born 30 Jan 1752, and Sarah, born 25 May 1755. Mary Hartshorne Lawrence died at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 18 days in 1782. If my research sources are correct, John Lawrence, Jr. who was a grandson of Elisha Lawrence who died in 1724, was a dcotor who graduated from Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and ACCUSED of being a Loyalist. He was permitted to return to his home area after the war but had to forfeit his property.
Mary Hartshorne Lawrence had siblings of the half blood from the first and third marriages of her father in addition to her brother Thomas by her mother.
Note: In 1897 J. Lawrence Boggs of Perth Amboy recorded the Yellow Meeting House tombstone: "Mary LAWRENCE, wife of John LAWRENCE, departed this life February 19, 1782, aged 67 years, 9 months and 18 days."
