Drusilla was the daughter of David and Nancy Wood Jordan. They moved from Ohio to Iowa around 1845 and then to Marshall, Indiana around 1850.

1860 census revealed John a farmer & they were living in York, Putnam, Missouri, Nancy was a baby.
1870 census revealed them with six oldest children at home.
1880 census revealed they still had six children at home.
1883 the birth certificate for Annice Hamlin lists her as the 14th child of John and Drusilla Hamlin.
1900 census revealed they had been married 43 years and had fourteen children, eight surviving.
1910 census revealed them living next door to son Emerson, with daughter Anice E Palloge and family.
1911 Drusilla applied for his Civil War Pension.
1920 census revealed Drusilla was 80 and listed as a widow.
