Mildred Maddox (Dotty) Askins, 65, of Fayetteville died in Huntsville Hospital after a long illness. Funeral service was Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home. Eugene Peden officiated and burial was in Blanch Cemetery. A native of Lincoln County and daughter of the late B. P. and Johnnie Lee Barham Maddox, Mrs. Askins was a bookkeeper at Norman Furniture Co. for 40 years and was a member of Washington Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Dianne Young of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mary Hopkins and Josephine Owen of Fayetteville; a brother, John Thomas Maddox of Fayetteville.
